Sade Bamidele
Biography

Sade Bamidele is a visual artist based in Ibadan, Nigeria. Her practice explores the emotional landscape of womanhood and homecoming within Yoruba culture. Using a mix of natural pigments, hand-dyed fabrics, and layered brushwork, she captures the quiet strength that resides in everyday life.

Influenced by Yoruba proverbs and textile heritage, Sade paints through rhythm and repetition, transforming patterns into meditations on dignity and connection. Her compositions often feature flowing lines and soft golden light — metaphors for self-respect and return.

Bamidele describes her work as “painting memory with calmness.” Each piece is a dialogue between serenity and resilience, inspired by her grandmother’s stories and the beauty of ritual simplicity.

Exhibited in Lagos, Accra, and Berlin, her art continues to gain recognition for its warmth, sincerity, and grounding in the shared humanity of West Africa.
