Biography

Ngozi Adetokunbo is a multidisciplinary artist from Lagos, Nigeria, whose art explores belonging, spirituality, and transformation. Born into an Igbo–Yoruba family, she bridges cultures through color, texture, and symbolism — creating a dialogue between home and the diaspora.

Her visual language fuses Yoruba cosmology with Igbo storytelling, blending ancestral motifs with contemporary abstraction. Ngozi’s use of layered fabric, paint, and metallic leaf represents the idea of migration and spiritual inheritance — the soul’s journey home.

She describes her process as “reweaving memory” — each work a ritual of reconnection and healing. Rich hues of indigo, coral, and bronze echo both the ocean and the earth, reflecting her belief that identity is fluid yet sacred.

Exhibited across Lagos, London, and New York, Ngozi’s work has been praised for its emotional depth and cultural insight, embodying the creative return of Africa’s artistic voice.
