Naledi Kgosi
Biography
Naledi Kgosi is a contemporary artist from Gaborone, Botswana, now based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her art celebrates the union of tradition and future — inspired by the deep cultural roots of Southern Africa and the luminous vastness of the African night sky.
Working primarily in acrylics, clay, and digital collage, Naledi reimagines ancient symbols of power, femininity, and spirituality through a modern lens. Her work often features celestial motifs, representing guidance, heritage, and resilience.
Drawing inspiration from her Tswana heritage, Kgosi explores the concept of “leadership through light” — portraying women as carriers of ancestral wisdom and creative power. Each piece she creates radiates balance between strength and softness, earth and cosmos.
Her art has been exhibited in galleries across Southern Africa and featured in emerging Pan-African art festivals. Through her evolving practice, Naledi continues to expand what it means to be both rooted and visionary — both star and chief.
