Biography
Luthando Jacobs is a multidisciplinary artist from Cape Town, South Africa. Rooted in Coloured heritage, his art explores identity, transformation, and the subtle beauty found in ordinary urban life.
Working with layered paint, sand, and reclaimed materials, Luthando weaves stories of resilience and belonging. His compositions often echo the rhythm of the Cape — murals, walls, patterns, and textures that speak of community and survival.
Jacobs calls his approach “textured storytelling”, blending history with emotion and form. He finds inspiration in the afternoon light of the Cape Flats, the muted tones of seaside homes, and the resilience of the people who live there.
His work has been featured in exhibitions across Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Gaborone, gaining recognition for its grounded honesty and cultural depth.
