Amara Tesfaye
Biography
Amara Tesfaye is a visual artist from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Her practice explores the quiet dialogue between spirituality and everyday life through color, texture, and pattern.
Deeply rooted in Ethiopian heritage, Amara draws inspiration from Coptic art, woven textiles, and the luminous tones of the Horn of Africa. Her paintings often depict serenity and movement in balance — forms that evoke prayer, wind, and breath.
She describes her work as “a language of grace”, where each layer of pigment becomes a meditation on faith and renewal. Using natural pigments and hand-ground minerals, Amara creates surfaces that seem to glow from within.
Exhibited in Addis Ababa, Nairobi, and Rome, her art has been recognized for its emotional purity and spiritual calm — a visual reflection of East African harmony.
