Biography
Achieng Njeri is a contemporary visual artist from Nairobi, Kenya. Her work bridges the cultural narratives of the Luo and Kikuyu peoples, exploring themes of light, womanhood, and ancestral courage.
Drawing from Kenya’s natural radiance and oral traditions, Achieng paints with vibrant layers of gold, terracotta, and sky-blue — colors that symbolize warmth, vitality, and clarity. Her compositions often portray women as both nurturers and warriors, echoing her mixed heritage of sunlight and strength.
Njeri works primarily with acrylics and natural dyes, creating luminous portraits that feel alive with rhythm and story. She refers to her style as “sun-born realism” — where each brushstroke honors both her lineage and her land.
